Insights for the ELEP

Exploratory Learning and Experiencing Program (ELEP)

Its is a program of its kind to be launched in Tanzania recently by DACAS EA. to promote tour based on ELE approach.

DACAS invites interested people of different culture race and background from all over the world to use this rare opportunity to either partner with us or participate directly in this program.

The program will start operating in Northern regions of Tanzania in Arusha and Kilimanjaro.The participants or partners will be groups, institutions or individuals inteested in exploring,learning by experiencing different traditional and cultural heritages in our rural villages depending on their interests.

The program has been designed such that the participants wil have an ample time to stay, talk and experience the ethos of people of different cultures in the rural areas.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

(a) To enhence learning by experiencing or participating in community's own environments.

(b)To promote cross-cultural exploratory learning and study tours across 120 tribes of Tanzania.

(c)To create awareness on various issues of development through sharing of experience among people of different races and culture.

(d) To promote cultural interaction among world community.

(e) Sharing of our cultural and natural heritages such as work of arts and God's creation with the rest of world community.


MISSION STATEMENT

Visiting,staying,sharing,learning and experiencing lives together can make the world community have a common and mutual understanding,enjoyment,sharing and scope for the most beautiful sceneries in the world thus creating a world's biggest family.


AREAS OF STUDY/EXPLORATION/EXPERIENCING

DACAS has sited some areas which seem of interest for people to do their exploration. This include Historical sites,archives,Animals in their natural state, traditional foods, traditional medicines, life styles of different tribes, land scapes,wtraditional villages, etc.
DACAS is inviting other topics depends on the interest of participants.

In case of study, for participants who want DACAS to do the study for them they can contact DACAS by email.

DACAS is also inviting people with comments on how to make the program better.

THE REASONS WHY SHOULD TANZANIA BE THE RIGHT PLACE FOR DOING EXPLORATION:

a} It is the peaceful country of all in Africa;Bill Clinton named it the Geneva of Africa.

b} There is a wide range of natural and cultural heritage. From primitive societies, Hadzabes and Datoga and pastoralists Maasai all living in the Northern circuit/region of Tanzania where this program is being implemented.

c} Tanzania has never experienced civil war nor ethic clashes since its independence in 1961.

d} Tanzania has more than 120 ethnic groups yet all living as one tribe united by Swahili language. This make Tanzania the richest country in East Africa in terms of cultures.

e} Tanzania is endowed with largest natural heritages such as wildlife parks, highest mountain in Africa, the great East Africa rift valley, the only crater with wild animal in the world, etc.

f} Tanzania has people of different religion but still lives in peaceful co-existence.

g} People of Tanzania are kind to visitors of all tribe and races.

h} There is no history of terrorists groups operating or with its branch in Tanzania;thus the security of all people is highly assured.



COST OF THE PROGRAM PARTICIPANT:

The participants will be responsible for the following expenses:-

a} All travelling costs
b} Food and accomodation.
c} Medication
d} Operational and other fees
e} Camping facilities


ELIGIBILITY:

a} Any interest person, individual,singles, couples, families etc.

b} Institutions, colleges, Universities etc.

c} Any other formal or formal groups.

d} Each participant should have policy clearence statement from their countries.


RECOMMENDATIONS:

Any interest individual is invited to make recommendations or suggest on improvement of the program.
